Back in the 17th century the dutch had their new colony in the new world, but when the King Charles of England gave his brother James, the duke of York many territories in america, among with all the territories king James gave to his brother New Holland as well, so to actually make this possible the King gave his brother a vast army and navy to go and attack the dutch colony and as they didn´t have an army nor navy to defend themselves, the dutch surrender immidiately the colony and gave rights and property to the British.
