The golden ratio is (1+√5)/2

If 5.9 is the smaller side, 9.546 is the larger side...

If 5.9 is the larger side, 1.618 is the smaller side...

I am unsure of how we are supposed to assume that 5.9 is supposed to be the larger or smaller side....

The other measurement of the golden rectangle using golden ratio is 9.546 so the option C is correct.

What is Golden Ratio?

It is basically the irrational number [tex](1+\sqrt{5} )/2[/tex] often denoted by the Greek Letter ∅ or T, which is approximately equal to 1.618.

Measurement of other side of Golden Rectangle:

We know that the formula of golden ratio is [tex](1+\sqrt{5})/2[/tex] and the ratio of the length of the two sides of a golden rectangle is in the ratio of golden ratio. So,

Golden ratio=length of one side/length of other side

1.618=length of unknown side/5.9

length of unknown side=1.618*5.9

                                    =9.546

Hence if one measurement of a golden rectangle is 5.9 inches then the other measurement is 9.546 inches.
