Write a letter to the author of the book “Flush” (Carl Hiaasen) Make sure you give suggestions on improving the novel and explain what you have read so far in the story (I have read up until the entire chapter 8). 2 or 3 paragraphs are enough.

Will give alot of points for this one, any unimportant answers will be reported.

Answer:

Flush, published in 2005, is Carl Hiaasen's second novel aimed at a young adult audience and, like his first, Hoot, has an environmental theme. The winner of the 2006 Green Earth Award in the young adult category and the 2006 Agatha Award for best children/young adult fiction book, Flush follows the story of Noah Underwood and his family as he helps prove that a casino boat operator is illegally dumping sewage into the Florida Keys. Throughout the text, Hiaasen emphasizes the beauty and glory of nature, while underscoring the ability of people, including children, to make a difference in preserving it.

Letter to Author Book Report

For your book report for English 9, you will be writing a letter to the author of the book. The letter should be, of course, in letter format: Single spaced, flush left, single spaced within paragraphs, double space betweenparagraphs, include a name, date, salutation, signature, and should be 1-2 pagestyped. In this letter you should include:1) your impression of the book. What did you like or dislike about the book. Be specific. Was it the characters (or once specific character), the plotline, the information presented (or lack thereof), the writing style, the voice, the tone, etc. 2) Ask the author a question about writing and being a writer and explain WHY you want to know the answer to the question. I’ll give you examples. 3) Choose a scene, chapter, plot part, section, etc. that you would like the author to consider changing. Tell the author why you want them to change it and HOW you want him/her to change it. 4) Tell the author what you think about WHY he/she wrote the book. (the authorial intent). Explain why you think this and whether or not the intent was accomplished for you as a reader; And 5) your choice. What else would you like to say to the author? It needs to be something that proves to me that you read the book. Actually, ALL of it needs to prove to me you read your book. Be creative! Have fun with this. Explore your need to know from your author and writers in general!
