A factory packed 85 bears into large boxes. Each large box had 9 bears. The remaining bears were pack in small box.How many bears were packed the small box?

The factory can pack 81 bears into 9 large boxes so 4 bears go into the small box.
4 bears go in the small box. 85 / 9 = 9 with a remainder of 4. The remainder of 4 is the amount that goes in the smaller box
