Write and solve an equation for the problem described below.
Bob and Sue each drove to work on Monday morning. Bob drove 25 miles
more than twice the distance that Sue drove to get to work. The total distance
they both traveled was 76 miles. How far did each person drive?
Equation:
What is Bob miles?
What is Sue mile?

Respuesta :

Answer:

Bob drove 59miles

Sue drove 17 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, Sue drove x miles

so, Bob miles 2x+25miles

The total distance  was 76 miles.

So, x+2x+25=76

3x=76-25=51

x=51/3=17 miles(Sue drove)

2x+25=2×17+25=59 miles (Bob drove)

Hope, this helps you.
