Equality researches on his own and discovers electricity but knows that he cannot show it to the government as they would severely punish him. He believes then that if he showed the scholars whom he believed were wise, they would see the benefit and convince the government of its good.
The scholars berated him and told him that it would be best that electricity was destroyed. He now knew the scholars were foolish and greedy and so he escaped with his invention.
