because the more you exercise the more blood gets running threw out your body and your heart gets pumping and then it starts pumping harder and faster causing you to be out of breath and your pulse rate to go up. causing your lungs to use more oxygen

Answer:

When we exercise we breathe faster because at the time of exercise muscles perform more work and hence, oxygen requirement of the body increases.

As the requirement increases the we breathe fast so that more and more oxygen can reach our lungs.

This oxygen is then utilized by the body to fulfill the requirement of extra oxygen.

More energy is required by the body and hence we need to breathe fast to compensate it.
