You could try exercising before falling asleep to sort of exhaust yourself.
If you take naps during the day avoid them bc you will have an even harder time.
Pretty sure panicking doesn't help at all since you're on alert so your mind will tell your body not to fall asleep. Try meditating. Even taking a deep breathing and exhaling for 4 seconds at a time helps.
If you use electronics like your phone, try avoiding them since the blue light emitted from the phone can also disrupt your phone.
These are some of the things that I've read will help.

if you have sleeping probs (the reason you cant sleep) but on some relaxing music or your favorite sound that calms you down don't look at the video put in some headphones and lay down
if that's not the problem and there just to many things on your mind try to clear your mind that don't work look up a wind down shutting your body off vid and put some headphones in and follow what there doing in the video
if that doesn't work then do what i do as a person who has insomnia and a lot of mental problems and the video thing don't work or anything just stare into darkness until its time to get up
